Overview

Sophie Kettle, the world's youngest female hill climb driver, engaged Grid Media to design a helmet that would reflect her brand and make a bold statement on the track. Our goal extended beyond aesthetics to enhance Sophie's professional image and visually represent her speed, determination, and individuality. As strong advocates for diversity in motorsport, we were excited to support Sophie and contribute to her branding and helmet design.

The Challenge

After developing Sophie's core brand identity, we aimed to seamlessly integrate her brand elements into the new helmet design. Sophie's commitment to fitness and health positions her as a leader among a new generation of drivers. She required a helmet that reflected her personality and dedication, stood out on the track, and maintained brand consistency across all platforms.

The Solution

Our collaborative approach kept Sophie's vision central throughout the design process. Together, we selected a colour palette that was personal to her and reflected her energy, guided by her established brand guidelines. The dynamic "SK" monogram, especially the unique "K," inspired a chevron motif to symbolize speed and forward momentum.

We translated these concepts into a striking helmet design, using the chevron pattern to wrap around the helmet and seamlessly integrate Sophie's logomark.

The Result

The final design reflects Sophie's drive and determination. The bold, eye-catching helmet captures her personality and projects a contemporary image that appeals to sponsors and fans. This design strengthens Sophie's brand and supports a more inclusive and diverse motorsport environment.
